Short historical background:
Hungary had entered the war and in 1943 during the eastern campaign the Hungarian troops took hold of seven Russian gliders and transported them back to Hungary. One of them was a Gn-7 and was allocated to the Air Scouts. This high performance glider was test flown by Rotter at Hármashatárhegy launched by bungee-cord. Later a special flying day was organized at Ferihegy airport for experienced glider pilots to fly the Gn-7. Sándor Kemény, chief instructor of the Air Scouts, was the first pilot. During the aerotow the glider went into a longitudinal oscillation which became so heavy that the wings were broken. The pilot escaped by parachute. The Gn-7 was a write-off.
